In DC Comics, the hero The Flash is the Fastest Man alive. His greatest villain is known as The Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne), aka Professor Zoom. He is from the 25th century, and idolized The Flash. He recreated the accident that gave The Flash his powers of speed, and ended up traveling back in time to help him overcome challenges. The Reverse Flash’s purpose (after a psychotic break) is to challenge The Flash so he is ready to face greater challenges than himself. The saying “I will make him a better hero” sums up The Reverse Flash’s intentions, even if they are done in an evil way.
The poster’s color scheme is based on the Reverse Flash’s costume. He is seen as the reverse of everything The Flash stands for, so his costume is an invert. The invert is shown through the yellow background, but it is also shown through the symbol being flipped, and then the black circle combined with the scarlet red bolt makes that the center of the poster so your eye is drawn to it first. This is an illustration because of the minimalistic tone this poster gives by showing the symbol of The Reverse Flash and the saying that speaks true to his character. The font used for the text was chosen to give it a running typography look to match this character. The color for the text was chosen as white because when you read the text with the color and the font, it feels like you are reading it faster, just like how fast The Reverse Flash is moving.
